Health Plans

Health Plans are under increasing legal scrutiny and policy pressure.

The new political environment creates not only threats in terms of policy, but also in terms of the application of existing laws.

Howard Burde has actively assisted health plans in contractual, administrative and compliance matters for several years. His years in Pennsylvania State Government as a regulator of and contractor with health plans, his representation of health plans and the Managed Care Association of Pennsylvania; his work with URAC on accreditation issues, all inform his counsel to health plans around the country.

In addition to the Health Laws of Pennsylvania, Mr. Burde is the Editor and Primary author of the Utilization Management Guide, 3rd Edition, published by URAC, and was a frequent speaker to the National Association of Managed Care Regulators.
